What Chefs Say:

Why Repertoire Pro?

Our mission is to help our members:

1. Get their dream job

It’s special when you find a job that ticks all the right boxes.

Some say it “doesn’t feel like work.”

To me, it still feels like work, just in alignment.

Simply put: there’s no gap between what you want and how you spend your time.

And let’s be honest, if you’re investing 50, 70, or 90+ hours a week in the kitchen, I believe that time should move you toward your future goals.

One more thing I feel like nobody’s talking about: you only need a few dream jobs in your career. We want to help you get it right and avoid mistakes.

2. Outperform in that position

Speaking from experience, getting the job is exciting, but truly performing in the role you’re in is what leads to the real benefits from that position.

It determines the level of mentorship you get. The amount of responsibility you’ll be entrusted with. The network you build and the skills you develop.

Inside Repertoire Pro, we’ll help build your skills, habits and mindset around these very teachable qualities that high performers display so YOU can put them to work and reap the benefits.

3. Avoid burnout along the way

We want you to have lasting career success, not be a flash in the pan.

The benefits of compounding will start to work for your career if you can consistently show up instead of being on a chaotic “start-and-stop” or “always-jumping-around” series of positions.

How will we help you achieve this? ⬇️

Here’s a visualized resume of the first 10 years of my career - I’ve learned the lessons and want to help you achieve your career goals.

How I Spent…

It wasn’t cheap starting out in the industry. I went and looked at my credit card statement across a 6-month period.

With the ambitions I had, I needed to:

✈️ Fly to new cities & stage/interview
🔪 Invest in new gear
📚 Study up on new techniques via cookbooks
👞 Get outfitted with the right uniform essentials

Now, looking back, I can see where every single one of those investments (and dream jobs I got) paid off massively.

If you’re already investing in similar ways in your career, look at your Repertoire Pro membership as a way to ensure you’ll get a return on those investments.

Said another way: don’t be the guy who buys all the new gym gear, starts at a new gym, but fails to work with a personal trainer.

Get the positive support and experienced accountability to ensure you’ll make progress, even when it gets hard.

Our Shared Goals:

Improve

We won’t ask you for a 10-year plan inside Repertoire Pro.

That’s because there are real, tangible changes we can make in the next few weeks that will transform how you’re perceived, how you show up and give you real results that get noticed.

Many new members share that this is their first time getting coaching, and it’s such a life-hack to achieving new levels of success, without hitting a plateau or figuring it all out on your own.

Connect

No one succeeds alone. You will go a lot farther and move WAY faster when you work with others.

This is one of the biggest benefits of a community - by changing who you’re surrounded by, the growth happens effortlessly.

Whether you create real friends or professional connections, the shared experience of navigating the industry is better when we do it together.

Optimize

We want to save you time, money, and help avoid regret by having you learn from what others have already figured out.

You’ll be more thoughtful with your choices, make better decisions and support your ideal lifestyle.

Once you decide what you’re optimizing for (income, awards, time, creativity, audience, impact, technique, skills, etc.), we’ll help you navigate those decisions and keep you accountable to your goals.

Why I built Repertoire Pro
(and my commitment to you)

Hey, Justin here 👋

Repertoire Pro is where I invest the majority of my own time (outside of creating new content).

Rewind the clock to 2009.

I was an ambitious young chef who benefited greatly from a series of “dream jobs” in my career - from being an opening team member at a high-profiled fine dining restaurant in Chicago, to running a station at The French Laundry, to then working abroad in Scandinavia and becoming a sous chef.

Looking back, it was really just putting myself out there for opportunities, even if they felt out of my league…but I gotta admit, it was lonely and filled with uncertainty.

Plus, I made a ton of costly mistakes along the way.

Repertoire Pro is designed to help you to achieve your dream job, without the painful scars or embarrassing moments.

It’s an all-in-one place for you to improve, connect and optimize, in service of those opportunities. The chefs in Repertoire Pro are supportive and serious about their careers.

This is a place for professionals to share notes and grow together. The space changes so quickly that this has to be a membership to be useful.

It's the most positive community I've been a part of – but even if you can't check in every day, my goal is to provide a handful of insights each year that make this well worth the investment.

Inside Repertoire Pro, I’ll support you through:

🤝Active participation
I’m extremely active in the forum and in direct messages with you

👨‍💻Weekly live sessions
I host live sessions each week, including Open Q&A’s, Career Strategy Sessions, Dish Feedback Livestreams, and other high-impact events

📚Curated training resources
It’s a win if YOU get your dream job (and outperform once you get it), so I bring you my best content on skill development and strategies that you can leverage right away to stand out at work

💡Personalized insights
Inside Repertoire Pro is where I can personalize my experience and advice to you and your specific situation

“Is Repertoire Pro right for me?”

👍 You’re a great fit for Repertoire Pro if:

☑️ You take your work seriously
☑️ You’re open to sharing what you’re working on
☑️ You’re willing to receive feedback, as a basis for improvement
☑️ You want the value of an always-available resource in a membership to provide support throughout the year for you
☑️ Real-world experience gives you the highest impact learning (that’s why we help get folks their dream job)
☑️ You’re eager to get industry insights beyond the status-quo (aka you’ve already tried: books, school, free content, etc.)
☑️ You want to save time, money, and avoid mistakes

DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, you’re NOT a great fit for Repertoire Pro if:

❌ You believe that you need to “backstab” or sabotage others to get your dream job
❌ You have no plans to work in the hospitality industry (restaurants, hotels, catering, private chef, pop ups, food media, etc.)
❌ You refuse to participate (just being honest, this doesn’t require hours per week, but if you never join a live session, don’t post, and never consume recorded content, you simply won’t get any value)
❌ You crave tearing others down from being an anonymous account online (there are other forums where you can find hate-filled communities…we have a strict no-negativity policy in Repertoire Pro)
❌ You already know everything and aren’t open to learning anything new right now (do you, all good, you simply won’t get an return-on-investment from the membership)

FAQ’s

  • Incredible question, I get it, you want this to be a worthwhile investment.

The bottom line: if you're looking to build a career as a chef, and are willing to participate as a member, joining Repertoire Pro will facilitate the actions that lead to success for you.

Because it's about actions, right? If we were to look back on a career, we'd just be seeing a series of decisions, actions, and timing.

If we agree that the timing part is (partially) out of your control, the question becomes: do you have the ability to make informed, strategic decisions?

Once the decision is made, do you have the discipline and confidence to do the required action?

Or do you find yourself in the same unproductive thought loops and ultimately paralyzed by inaction? 😵‍💫

If you've ever struggled with these challenges, I totally understand. I've been there, too.

Instead of doing it alone, becoming a member of Repertoire Pro will allow you to get experienced help on your decisions and we'll hold you accountable to those actions that truly move the needle for you at work.

So yes, I'm committed to making sure this works for you, and to prove it, you'll be getting a 1:1 call with me right after you sign up, so we can talk through your specific situation - fair enough?

  • As a career-accelerator, Repertoire Pro is designed to help you reach your dream job, and outperform when you're in it.

Different members have different challenges and goals, so there's no singular answer.

For some, it's the networking, because they don't feel like they can connect with anyone at work, or they're new to the industry.

For others, it's the accountability of being able to show up to weekly live sessions and actually get sh*t done. This happens inside of Focused Co-Working Sessions, Menu Writing, and Open Q&A's.

Some folks find that the opportunities they take advantage of to have the membership pay for itself. A raise at work, a private chef dinner or pop-up, or even a brand deal on social media.

Regardless of your situation, the fact that Repertoire Pro is a small collective of members means that the level of personalization you'll receive will ensure your progress. If you've got goals to grow and succeed in the industry, you should become a member and see for yourself the change it'll make 🙌

  • Every member of Repertoire Pro is busy. Every single one of us.

Repertoire Pro is designed to be a resource, not a task.

Of course, if you spend time leveraging the resources (Workshops, Live Sessions, Courses, Templates, etc.) you will get the most out of it. But if you simply use Repertoire Pro as a place to get inspiration, bust through roadblocks, or solicit feedback on your strategy through a transition, you're going to get a lot out of it.

Most members tell me within weeks of joining that they've already gotten their money's worth.

You don't have to dedicate hours per week to Repertoire Pro.

My goal is to deliver a few high-value insights per year that makes the membership pay for itself.

...but I bet you'll choose to spend more time inside than you think.

  • At the top of this page, there's a guided tour of Repertoire Pro so you can see exactly what's inside. I pull back the curtain and show you precisely what's included, as well as the numerous benefits you'll get as a member.

We occasionally offer what's called a Guest Pass, which gives you limited access to certain areas of Repertoire Pro just in case you want to join an upcoming event, explore the Knowledge Base of content, or download some of our most-loved digital templates.

The reality is, the folks that become members of Repertoire Pro are committed professionals, serious about their careers. A huge benefit of networking with other members is that continued connection, so it would be against our shared values to have short-term members.

  • Have you ever gotten frustrated with how far "free resources" have gotten you?

When publishing something for the masses (ie: a free video, a mini-course, a blog post), companies benefits from appealing to the widest possible audience. But as the consumer of that information, it can sometimes feel like your unique question is still unanswered.

What about joining an online industry forum full of negativity and complaining? I'll be honest, I usually end up completely drained of energy and motivation after spending time in those.

In our opinion, these problems stem from two reasons: lack of strategic personalization and lack of a supportive culture.

Repertoire Pro specializes in strategic personalization, unlike other pockets of the internet. We listen to you, ask the right questions, and ensure that the advice you're receiving actually aligns with your goals.

Sure, it takes more time, but we think it's worth it for the results that members get.

And since the founder is still active in the forum of Repertoire Pro, the culture is incredibly supportive and positive. No online trolls or toxic negativity.

We engage with you in a way that doesn't scale - this isn't a 10,000 user Discord or SubReddit with 150,000 members.

Repertoire Pro is proudly less than 500 people, and we'll be keeping it that way. Join us!

  • Here's how I see it: if you work with food, in a professional capacity, you can call yourself a chef.

Controversial, I know, but that helps me really "boil it down" for folks to find out if you're a good fit.

What we're really hoping for is to help you outline, chart a path towards, and then ultimately achieve your career goals.

It might be in a restaurant, hosting pop ups, growing an audience online, or your own unique combination of what a "dream job" looks like for you.

We've had culinary school students, prep cooks, and dishwashers join Repertoire Pro and all get value from the membership.

Plus, since they're so early on in their journey, they typically get a boost on their learning curve and land in a job that's going to give them the best industry experience.

If you consider yourself a "home cook", have no ambitions to work professionally with food, or want "hacks and recipes", you're unfortunately probably not a good fit and I'd be happy to recommend other communities for you.
